Painted Celtic Bodhran'sBodhran's are great because they are immediately recognizeable as being Celtic in their design and they are made out of really nice thin goat hide that provides a rich deep sound. Bodhran's can also be purchased as tunable which is fantastic if you will be drumming in all sorts of weather. This is a sincere advantage that the bodhran has over a frame drum because conditions such as humidity and heat will affect the usability of your drum throughout the year as well as indoor/outdoor locations. You can also purchase them without the added benefit of being able to tune them but you'll have a significantly harder time maintaining a consistent tone year round. These drums are available for purchase with paintings of traditional Celtic harmonies on them. The ancient Celt's believed that by wearing and/or using these symbols they would be in harmony with the virtue of that symbol. You can easily procure one made just for you in a different size than what is currently available or with a completely unique image created just for you by emailing The Bardic Artisan™ with either the Celtic harmony name (complete listing below, images to be available as soon as drums are completed) or significance of the design you have in mind along with the size of drum you require. Full descriptions of the Celtic Harmony are provided as well as highly detailed special information on how custom design work was developed. For more information on the images to the left, just click on each image one at a time and you will be directed to a new page with all the details. Be sure to check back frequently as more drums will be added as they are completed. There will also be some in-stock drums available for purchase relatively soon.
